DANS LA VIE
Sugawara picked up print design while in Waseda University graduate school, and after working for a French artist as an atelier print designer, she set up her original print brand, DANSLAVIE, in 1999.
In 2000 she set up a line of collection items for clothing and miscellaneous products using her own print. The collection has been shown at AMBIANCE¡Çs joint shop in Minami Aoyama and select shops. Since 2002, Sugawara¡Çs range of activities has extended widely to include the London Fabric Show, computer animated movies and collaboration with domestic and overseas designers and makers. Finally she released her solo collection in 2004 and set up DANS LA VIE Inc. Since 2005, Sugawara¡Çs collection has been shown at workshops in Paris and sold at shops in New York, Paris and Italy. As a member of the JFW Business Forum, she took part in the 2006 JFW joint exhibition.
DANS LA VIE is also one of the world¡Çs 28 brands that make up the TFWA design studio.
