After graduating from the Apparel Design Department of Bunka Fashion College in 1998, Hirokawa joined Issei Miyake Co., Ltd. where she spent eight years as a knit designer.
In March 2006, she launched SOMA DESIGN, coinciding with the establishment of SOMARTA.
