Yukiko Hanai
Completed the Setsu Nagasawa¡Çs Setsu Mode Seminar. Set up Atelier Hanai in 1964 and a boutique Madam Hanai (Ginza, Tokyo) in 1968. Won the Fashion Editors¡Ç Club Japan (FEC) Award in 1973 and the Senken Shimbun Buyers Award in 2003. Her company was renamed Hanai & Co., Ltd. in 1984. She has a flagship shop in Aoyama, Tokyo and deals in all brands of YUKIKO HANAI. She has released a number of products under license based on the philosophy that everything in life represents a design opportunity. Her design works range widely, encompassing ballet and movie costumes. Hanai has been appointed to several committees for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. She is member of Keizai Doyukai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives).
