A fashion design graduate from Bunka Fashion College, Kato was awarded the 33rd So-En Award for his graduation collection. Hayashi was the recipient of the 49th So-En prize for the graduation show at the same college. Jin Inc. was established in 1975, and the brand opened its first overseas directly managed store in L.A. in 2001. They ran their operation out of New York in 2003 and established Showroom Salon in 2005.
