“NEW DESIGNER FASHION GRAND PRIX Final Selection” was setup in 1984 as “Onward NEW DESIGNER FASHION GRAND PRIX”. Currently, it is held as part of Human Resource Development Program of the JFW. This year marks the 26th anniversary of the program. 13,000 designs had applied from 51 countries this year and 30 designs of them have passed the initial screening. Designers who have passed the initial screening will make the actual garments and they will be reviewed at the final selection. One Grand Prix, one Prizes for Excellence of each category and five Workmanship Prizes will be selected from them. The support program to foray on the world stage will be provided for 30 selected designers.
