MESSAGE from JFW Executive Committee Chairman Masahiko Miyake

Thanks to the kind cooperation of all those concerned, the second Japan Fashion Week in Tokyo has become a reality. With the aim of sustaining the prosperity of the Japanese fashion business, the first Japan Fashion Week i Tokyo (held in October last year) was a resounding success, thanks to a synergy of three elements of the Japanese fashion business: the creativity of our designers, the technological expertise of our textiles industry and a system of product delivery driven by the world's most demanding consumer market. We believe that through this news system we have established JFW as an event that can compete with the fashion weeks of other countries.

Rather than simply being a tradeonly event, we hope to make this, the second Japan Fashion Week in Tokyo, into a new type of event that sparks the interest of the general public and also allows them to take a participatory role.

We would like to express our most profound gratitude to all the businesses w have supported JFW everybody who has helped us to make it a success.

Masahiko Miyake,
Executive Committee Chairman, Japan
