Worked as a print designer at a French owned studio. Founded her own label DANS LA VIE in 1998. In 2000, Developed her originally printed garments and trinkets into her collection line showcased at AMBIANCE and its joint exhibition SELECT. After wide-ranging work including the 2002 Fabric Show in London, CG animation films and collaborations with designers inside and outside Japan, Sugawara presented her first solo collection in 2004. Expanded her business to New York, Paris and Italy. Participated in the 2005 JFW Business Forum. Exposed to the Paris-based media in 2006. Opening airport duty free shops in London and Singapore.
