After graduating from Bunka Fashion College, Higa began working for World in 1975. She left for London in 1986, returning the next year to found ROSE IS A ROSE by KYOKO HIGA. Kyoko Higa Creation was established in 1990 and that year she was awarded the Mainichi Fashion Award Newcomer Prize her brand assumed the name KYOKO HIGA in 1991. It has been shown at trade fairs in New York and Paris from 2000. Higa designed costumes for the movie "Tokyo To wer" in 2004 and signed a design deal with World the same year.
