Surikabe won the celebrated So-en Award and moved to Italy in 1989. Worked as an assistant designer for Romeo Gigli in 1990. Appointed "NN STUDIO" chief designer for 10 CORSO COMO from 1992 to 1996. Created designs for labels including ALBERTO, BIANI, INCOTEX and TRUSSARDI COLLECTION from 1997 through 2002. Started a project "support surface" in 1999. Received the esteemed Kuwasawa Award in 2003.
