KENICHI KAKINUMA （+8 PARIS ROCK) : Born in Tokyo. Graduate of Aoyama Gakuin University. Having worked as a Los Angeles-based assistant fashion buyer, Kakinuma founded his own label for Autumn/Winter 2001. Opened a Paris showroom in 2003 aiming to gain access to EU and US markets. Has organized the joint exhibition UNDER since Spring/Summer 2003.
Chiho Iwakawa (Knot/not) : Born in Tokyo in 1976. Graduate of Tokyo Zokei University in Textile Design, where Iwakawa developed her textile skills and expertise. Later learned to make clothes by herself and launched her own label for Autumn/Winter 2004.
（+8 PARIS ROCK） : Uses mainly Japanese traditional kakishibuzome (roughly translated persimmon juice dyed) textile and produces its collections of musically inspirational clothing that combines Paris, Rock and the 80’s American life style.
(KNOT / NOT） : Some particular pieces of work with her specific concept of "how we could assemble our bodies (KNOT / NOT) which are barely moored and afloat by using devices named clothes and rethink". Unisex label which conducts one of its ten "outlines of experiment" biannually and develops the prototypes into its collection line. |
